How To Prepare Your Tables

Tables can present some difficult challenges as they are removed from the original program they were created in and placed into an Xlibris Interior Template. To minimize these difficulties as much as possible, Xlibris requests that all tables be produced according to these specifications.

Table Size

Your table can be oriented as either portrait or landscape, but the size of the table, when printed, should not exceed 4" by 6.5". Please print out a test copy of any table you intend to send to verify that it will be legible within these dimensions.

Font Size

The size of text within a table should be no smaller than 8 points. If the text is reduced any further it may become unreadable.

Table format

Your tables should be made using a current spreadsheet program (like Microsoft Excel) or as a table within a current word processing program (like WordPerfect 7 or Microsoft Word 6). Tables should not be made manually by using tabs or the space bar to space out entries, but by using the Table feature of the programs.

It may be necessary for Xlibris to contact you about your tables and discuss alternative options for including them should the transfer cause the data to be unusable. If you have questions about how to format tables please contact us at 1-888-795-4274 or at info@xlibris.com.
