2008 American Geriatrics Society Annual Scientific Meeting
April 30-May 4, 2008 Marriott Wardman Park Hotel , Washington , DC
Geriatric medicine has become a major focal point of nationwide health care, as increasing numbers of Americans are living into their 9 th and 10 th decades. The AGS plays an extremely significant role in shaping the future of health care for older adults. The membership of the AGS and the number of physicians specializing in geriatrics have grown significantly in the past 5 years, as has the attendance at the Annual Meeting. The AGS now has over 7,000 members and attendance at the Annual Meetings increases an average of 25o/o a year! Based upon the average yearly increases, the AGS anticipates a scientific registration of 2,700. Over 96% of the registrants are MD's representing Internal Medicine(48%), Family Practice (25%), Psychiatry (80/o), Cardiology (7%), Osteopathy (6%), and others (6%). By bringing your books and journals to the AGS registrants, you will reach an audience of physicians and other professionals dedicated to the delivery of quality health care to the nation's elderly population. The AGS meeting is the only national forum dealing exclusively with geriatric medicine, and at no other time during the year will this many geriatric health care professionals be available to you.
