Do I have to buy any copies of my book?

No. You never have to buy a single copy of your book. You can simply tell your readers where to purchase copies.

How does the 'Add-On' list work?

Xlibris has designed service bundles to make your choices easier and to include everything most books should need. In some cases, however, you may need to add a feature that is not supported in one of the bundles. In such a case, you simply indicate the service you wish to use and add an element from the Add-Ons list. For example, you may like the Basic Service but need more graphics. You may order the Basic Service and add additional graphics up to a maximum of 60.

Should I pay for corrections when I submit?

No. In a perfect world, you would never need to pay for corrections. By proofreading your book before submission you will catch most of the typos and errors. Any formatting errors introduced by Xlibris are corrected at the first galley stage free of charge. If, after you review your first proofs, you discover errors or wish to make a change, you may order the Corrections Service at any time.

Will my book have ISBNs?

Yes, your book will be assigned the International Standard Book Numbers required by book sales channels to track and order your books. In addition, Xlibris will place a machine-readable Bookland/EAN barcode on your book's cover.

What if I need to correct typos that were in my original file?

If you find errors that you did not catch before you submitted, you may submit those corrections after you have seen your galley. Beyond that number, or after the galley has been approved, you may still make correctly by purchasing Corrections Service.

How much will my book sell for?

How will readers find my book?

Your book will be listed in the Xlibris online bookstore and major online stores, including Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Borders.com, Buy.com, Chapters.ca, and many more. Xlibris books are listed in the database of Ingram, the largest U.S. book distributor, so they can be ordered at most bookstores in the U.S.

Will my books be registered for a copyright certificate?

When you wrote your book, you automatically asserted copyright ownership. Registering with the U.S. Congress Copyright Office, which records this ownership more formally, gives you better recourse in case of infringement. Registering your book with the U.S. Copyright Office involves providing a fee and requires you to supply two copies of the best edition of your book. Simply contact the Copyright Office for instructions, forms and a fee schedule. Xlibris can provide this service for you as an Add-On with our Copyright Registration Service.

Will my book have a Library of Congress Card Catalog Number?

With the purchase of our add-on service for the Library of Congress Card Catalog Number, Xlibris will contact the Library of Congress to obtain a unique catalog number for your text. Xlibris will also supply the copy to be placed in the library's collection.
