Indexing Service
An index enables your readers to find information quickly and easily in your published manuscript. It will greatly improve the reading experience and will improve cohesiveness, consistency, accuracy, and usefulness. If you would like to include an index in your manuscript, Xlibris provides two methods for doing so.
Author-Supplied Index - $100
- Prepare your book file in a recent version of Microsoft Word or WordPerfect using its Index feature.
- After your corrections have been done Xlibris can provide you with a paper galley of your book to be used as a reference for creating the index. You can create the Index, including final page numbers, as a separate text file and submit it on a PC formatted disk to Xlibris. The index is placed at the end of the book and we will send you a confirmation galley.
Xlibris-Provided Index Service – price varies
The Xlibris’ indexers will read your manuscript and tag appropriate words to create a dynamic index. This means that any changes to your layout’s pagination will automatically reflect in the index, and you will get to see it with every interior galley you receive from Xlibris.
The price of the Xlibris-Provided Indexing service varies depending on the length of your manuscript:
