Description

The principal character Dr. Matt Walters a Neurological Research Scientist has been affected by polio for most of his 70 odd years, and is driven by daydreams and ideas since a teenager. These stored daydreams and ideas lead him into exciting research never before attempted. He is assisted by his son in-law Donald who highly respects him and is put into a difficult position because of the public outcry caused by his father in-law’s research. His wife Sarah whom he idolizes, and who is devoted to him completely, is torn with grief and worry because of this research.

One can say that the author is writing about himself by answering the question, what if. As a result the plot contains many surprising events that keeps one wondering what is on the following pages. He was able to collate these daydreams into a very intriguing scenario that continually glues the reader to the page. He has done it in a way that enables the reader to become the main character Dr. Matt Walters and experience his most inner feelings.
