Book Launch and Signing

Joyce Marie Jones

Xlibris-published author Joyce Jones performs poetry on Saturday, February 11, at 2140 Fulton, Chicago, Illinois, in The Art Gallery. The show begins at 8:00 p.m. and features several theatrical acts. Ms. Jones will read from her recent publication Marshmellow Softness and Rock Hard Taffy. This is a benefit event for Sigma Gamma Rho Chicago Chapter.

Alvin Waverly Brown Jr.

Author of the Xlibris-published children's book Life Story of Halle and Lujah, Alvin Waverly Brown Jr. hopes that his inspirational book would impart valuable lessons to children, parents, and grandparents. He will hold a book signing in the Amazing Grace Christian Church on January 8, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. The church is located in 8550 Mud Creek Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana.

Xlibris author Tamara South will be having a book signing on January 22, 2012 at Nubian Hair Studio in the Bronx 767 E 169 Street Bronx, NY 10456. Her compelling book, Healing from Within, was recently recognized by USA Book News as a finalist for the Christian/Inspirational category of the USA "Best Books of 2011" Awards.

Author Brenda Ballard's Xlibris-published book, The Boy From Granite Falls, won the Silver Award for the Fiction-Adventure category in the recently concluded 2011 Reader's Favorite Contest. She will be receiving the award next year at the Reader's Favorite Awards which coincides with the International Book Fair at the same place. The book is the first installment of the series and is based upon the life of Fred Ballard in the 1930's, on the Mountain Loop Highway above the small town of Granite Falls.

Each year, it sponsors the National Poetry Month and other programs in over 200 colleges and universities.
