Young Readers
Will Learn of Harry's First Day at School

Denise G. Britan's new picture book to be featured at this year's Frankfurt Book Exhibit.
From author Denise G. Britan comes a delightful tale about meeting new friends on the
first day of school. Made available through Xlibris, Harry Meets Sam is a picture book
that young readers will definitely love.
Children are introduced to six-year-old Harry, a boy who lives at the end of a long,
straight, red dirt road in Slapout, Alabama. He lives with his mother and aunt in a
white, two-storey house that has a small porch in the front and a garden in the back.
Harry could not wait for school to start. When he was five, he went to little school
at the church with other kids. But this time, the day came when he could get on
the big, yellow bus and go to first grade. With his backpack filled with a case
of pencils and a lunchbox with his favorite peanut-butter sandwich, Harry steps
into the big yellow bus, excited for the things that lie ahead. Different new faces
stare at him, making him feel a bit scared. Will Harry be able to find a friend
among the new crowd?
Lush with hand-drawn images by the author's son, Harry Meets Sam is a charming read
for young children who are excited to have a first hand at school.
This book will be featured at the 2011 Frankfurt Book Exhibit in Frankfurt, Germany,
