Corporate
Background
A new era in the publishing industry has arrived. With the convergence of the Internet and new publishing technology, every writer can become a published author. Xlibris Corporation is leading this
Independent Publishing
revolution.
Founded in 1997, and currently based out of Philadelphia, PA, Xlibris has reached thousands of writers and published more than 20,000 titles to date. The Company's objective is for every writer to have access to publication, and for every book to be forever in print and available. At Xlibris, the writer is the publisher.
The Xlibris process is very simple. The writer sends a manuscript in electronic form. Xlibris will: format the text; design the cover; register the book with existing distribution channels including Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and over 2,500 other online retailers; and assign an ISBN number. Xlibris uses print-on-demand technology to print books as they are ordered. The author earns royalties and retains all the rights to their work. And they always have access to help when they need it.
Xlibris is redefining the marketplace by creating a gateway for writers to easily and inexpensively self-publish. Xlibris provides a unique combination of:
- A complete self-publishing service: Xlibris provides all the tools needed to transform a manuscript into a printed book. This helps new authors get their work to market and helps established authors restore access to their out-of-print books.
- Full author control: Writers who publish with Xlibris retain all rights to their work, never go out of print, and earn royalties on every sale. Authors who publish with Xlibris have a non-exclusive agreement and can offer their work to publishers and agents without any restrictions.
Recently, Xlibris became part of the Author Solutions group of companies, and together with our sister companies have become the undisputed leader in Independent Publishing, and arguably the entire publishing industry.
