Description

The two main characters of this book are places rather than people: The first is the beloved little Church on Main Street with many members flowing in and out as time goes by and their lives becoming inextricably woven into the actions of all the others. The second is the gathering place at Groques Mountain where the descendants of Henry Groques of Revolutionary War fame gather periodically to conduct family business or for recreation and family reunion. The place itself is a good influence to tie the family members together in close harmony. This book is dedicated to my late wife, Virginia, who died the day after Mothers Day in 2005. Although this book is fiction, some ideas came from newspaper accounts of actual happenings. For example: Social Security has never been secure. Churches have thrived in store fronts and even over a gas station in Arlington, VA. Your Government continues to confiscate land from its citizens without paying just compensation. Drug dealers do exist. So does the IRS. Because this book is for and about Christians, I guarantee that there is no scx, violence or nasty language. But there is comedy and history for you to enjoy, or to give to another Christian.
