Cres Smith
Author Biography
Cres Smith Cres Smith is the author of one other book, Tvarozna, and has been writing for about ten years. Cres has a college degree in Mathematics, providing an analytical platform for his writing. Cres’ interest in writing is always enabled by his personal experiences. During his life he has been encouraged through singular events to investigate, analyze and explain complex circumstances. With Tvarozna came an internal challenge to gather family records for the benefit of younger family members, thus providing a legacy. For other writings, not yet published there were events that drove the writing. Cres’ was not driven by the need to write but the need to explain or clarify issues. A singular event triggered the writing of John the Evangelist: A message to the Saints. The triggering event for this writing was simple enough. One day while attending a religious class on the New Testament, his attention was called to a scripture in John where the Holy Ghost was described. The subject was thought to be well understood, the verse was simple enough to read and understand. But as time went on and days followed, the scripture continually entered his mind to the point that it repeatedly appeared in the mind. The mental picture was that of a small index file drawer with one card for each scripture in the gospel of John. He could scan and read all the scriptures as they appeared before him until he got to the earlier identified scripture. It was in red and he was unable to read it. The scriptures that appeared later could also be read and now he wondered why this scripture was different. It was initially an idle curiosity, later it became a mission. Initially the scripture was researched, but as events unfolded the project broadened and it seemed that the entire book of John was to be researched before the answers could be found. The single scripture was like a key to the entire book. Once the investigation was started it had to include the entire book. So the effort was started and with prayer and guidance the work was finished to the author’s satisfaction. As it turned out there was more than one scripture and message to be given. There was renewed energy in the meaning of Jesus the Christ, the Holy Ghost and the writing of John. The experience was very difficult in places but was pleasurable in its entirety. The knowledge obtained was immeasurable. The benefits of this labor of love is left to others to enjoy, should they so wish. Cres is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
